Topics and scientific program.
The Mediterranean Poultry Summit (MPS) has established itself as a unique platform where Mediterranean countries come together to discuss the challenges and future of the poultry industry, both within the region and beyond.
Key topics of interest to the scientific community and the poultry industry include nutrition, poultry production economics, housing and management, alternative feed resources, food safety, and disease control programs. Special emphasis is placed on the specific conditions and needs of the Mediterranean region. These topics are presented and discussed by leading international experts. The adjacent graphic illustrates the distribution of topics addressed during the previous Summit held in Córdoba in 2022.
Geographical areas covered
The 7th Mediterranean Poultry Summit, held in Córdoba in 2022, brought together participants from 38 countries worldwide. Statistical analysis of attendance clearly demonstrates that countries of the Mediterranean basin represent the most active and engaged group of participants (see figure).
Importance of the Mediterranean Region
Commercial markets and companies traditionally define their operational regions according to political boundaries—such as Europe, Africa, Asia, or the Middle East and North Africa. However, science, agriculture, animal health, nutrition, and environmental challenges do not follow political borders. Instead, they are shaped primarily by climate, ecology, and production systems, which transcend human frontiers and conflicts.
This fundamental reality is one of the main reasons the Mediterranean Poultry Summit has gained strong international recognition and has become one of the most important scientific events in the region.
The Summit places particular emphasis on research and development in Southern Europe, North Africa, and the Near East—regions that share similar production environments and challenges.
For sponsors, the MPS therefore represents a unique opportunity to reach a broad and highly relevant group of countries and decision-makers through a single, focused international event.
