Split

Welcome to Split: The Pearl of the Adriatic

We, the Chairs, the Committees, and the Secretariat, are delighted to welcome you to Split, a city where 1,700 years of history meet a vibrant, modern Mediterranean lifestyle. Beyond the scientific sessions, we invite you to immerse yourself in the unique "Dalmatian spirit."

🏛️ Step Into History

Diocletian's Palace

More than just a monument, this UNESCO World Heritage site is a living fortress that forms the heart of the city. Wander through its labyrinth of Roman streets, discover the Peristyle square, and explore the ancient Palace Cellars.

Saint Domnius Cathedral

Originally built as a Roman mausoleum, it is one of the oldest cathedrals in the world. Climb its Bell Tower for a breathtaking panoramic view of the city and the surrounding islands.

🌊 Mediterranean Living

Obala Hrvatskog narodnog preporoda

Join the locals for a coffee on Split’s iconic seafront. Lined with palm trees and bustling cafés, it is the perfect spot for people-watching as the sun sets over the Adriatic.

Marjan

Known as the "lungs of the city," this forest park offers hiking trails and stunning viewpoints (Vidilica) just a short walk from the old town.

Bačvice Beach

Famous for its shallow waters and the traditional local ball game, picigin, it is the ideal spot to relax after a day of summit meetings.

🍴 A Taste of Dalmatia

Indulge in fresh Adriatic seafood, local wines, and traditional specialties like crni rižot (black risotto) or pašticada. Whether you choose a cozy tavern (konoba) in the old town or a fine-dining experience overlooking the marina, Split’s gastronomy is a highlight of any visit.

🗺️ Explore Further

Split is the perfect gateway to the Adriatic. Whether you wish to visit the medieval Klis Fortress, witness the majestic waterfalls of Krka National Park, or enjoy an island-hopping adventure to Hvar or Brač, we are here to help.
